An editor, a chat and a coding agent that run on your own machine
STRADA is a code editor with an agent that reads, edits and runs code in your project, on models served by the VEYMEER engine next to it. Nothing you write leaves the machine. STRADA is open source and free for everyone, companies included.
The work of a coding assistant, without the cloud
Editing code is where the engine is fastest, so that is what STRADA is built around.
An agent that really edits
It reads files, makes targeted edits, runs commands and tests, and reads the errors that come back. Every change arrives as a diff you accept or reject, per file or per hunk.
Undo a whole task
Each task keeps a checkpoint. If the result is not what you wanted, restore the project to how it was before the agent started.
Completions as you type
Multi-line suggestions that know the code after the cursor as well as before it, and an edit-in-place box for a selection, with a diff before anything changes.
It knows the project
A local index of the codebase, @-mentions of files and symbols, the files that matter picked for you, and a project rules file the agent follows.
A model hub built in
Search the Hugging Face Hub, see which files the engine runs and which fit your GPU, and download with pause, resume and checksum verification.
A real editor underneath
Themes, settings, keybindings, a terminal, source control, debugging, and its own extension host that runs VS Code extensions from Open VSX.
STRADA is open. The engine is its own product.
STRADA contains none of the engine. It finds the engine installed on the machine, starts it, and talks to it over the same OpenAI-compatible API any other program uses.
That keeps both honest: STRADA can be read, changed and built by anyone, and everything it does with the engine, your own tools can do too.
- Open source, free to use at home and at work
- Uses an engine that is already running, or starts one
- Works on every engine tier, including the free one
127.0.0.1publicOne installer, two things installed
The way a game's installer brings the runtime it needs: STRADA's installer makes sure the engine is there first.
-
It looks for the engine
If a current engine is already installed, it is left alone.
-
It installs the engine
Otherwise the engine installs itself: into place, onto the PATH, and into the list of installed programs, so it can be updated or removed on its own.
-
It installs STRADA
For your user account, with no administrator rights needed.
-
First launch
STRADA finds the engine, helps you pick a model that fits your GPU, and starts.
veymeer setup --remove. Your models and settings are kept.
STRADA ships with the first release
The Windows installer is built. The source is published with the release.
